HHNOI started in 2016 as my way of making music without band drama, conflict, or compromise.

It morphed into one of the early modular synth projects that didn’t require an engineering or art school degree to follow - eventually landing somewhere between ambient, noise, and what I like to call pop for people who give a fuck about genres.

I’ve played some unforgettable live shows with my partner Rachel Palmer, released albums and eps on Modularfield, 9th World Rec., Errorgrid … not that label names mean much anymore, but those were milestones for me.

But the past isn’t the present:
Music’s been flattened into background noise.
Labels are glorified Dropbox folders, moving too slowly to outrun the irrelevance of middlemen.
And your average attention span is now shorter than this sentence.

So I’m cracking HHNOI open.
Or letting it fall apart.
Either way, it’s not just about synths and songs anymore.

As of 2025, HHNOI is a transmission station.
For unfinished thoughts.
For creative processes with no neat endings.
For inspiration that doesn’t fit into a square.
For everything I can’t shut up about.

You’ll find audio scraps, sonic glitches, broken ideas, notes I’d normally delete, and the occasional unfiltered ramble that probably should’ve stayed in my head.

If you get something out of it — great.
If not — even better. I’m not here to please.

I’m still tuning.
You’re welcome to eavesdrop.

Stay weird.
